Toilet Does Not Touch Floor
The process to repair the subfloor is not easy but it needs to be handled promptly to avoid further damage to the wooden floor below which could eventually result in the toilet falling through.
Toilet does not touch floor. Remember that most toilets do not come with the toilet seat included. The all in one product features the toilet bowl toilet tank and seat along with a wax ring and floor bolts with caps. Floor flange was set to be about 1 cm off the tile floor. If your toilet has been leaking there is a danger the wooden subfloor will be damaged as a result.
With a two piece toilet the tank and toilet bowl are separate. Do not wiggle the toilet or rock it from side to side after it is down. Im installing a toilet in my basement floor which is concrete i have it all ready in place but it wont completely touch the concrete is this normal so when i do install tile it can go underneath the toilet i have the wax ring in place and i pushed it down as hard as i could but it will not touch the floor the nuts are screwed in also. I have put my 175lbs of weight on the toilet to smash the wax ring.
If this happens the toilet will leak at the floor base. When you are replacing a toilet or resetting an existing toilet after a repair there are a few key things to check to ensure a good seal and prevent leaks. Diyers often set the toilet and then apply a tiny bead of caulk along the outside edge. That doesn t always provide a good enough bond to the floor.
You also want to make sure the toilet sits level and does not rock on the floor as this can compromise the seal. Im not sure if the horn went into the pipe however i am assuming it has is there is about 1 cm space between the toilet and the tile floor. Toilets should be caulked to the floor to prevent side to side movement that can break the wax seal and to prevent splashes or overflows from puddling under the toilet and rotting the floor. Toilets are sealed to the floor flange with a wax ring but the height of the flange and the tightness of the flange bolts.
Sit on the toilet stool to seat it firmly against the wax ring.
