Two Different Floor Heights

Two different floor heights. In this video we show you how to transition between different floor heights from tile floor to wood floor installations. If you are dealing with two different types of floor coverings a transition strip is almost always required. So what happen is the detail of the top of the baseboard rounds the corner top of the baseboard and terminates the detail into the floor. The differences in height between the two adjoining floors is typically not more than 1 2 inch at most.
Since the height differences occur on a different plane at the corner of the passthrough i start with this same detail in the different plane. While installation manipulation with padding and underlayment help iron out these inconsistencies sometimes the only option is to work with a threshold to bridge the gap between the two materials used and make an even transition.
